MOOD OF THE MARKET !
This is influenced by many factors, the economy, politics, social and natural events which may occur anywhere in the world. The event may or may not have a direct bearing on the stock market but can dramatically effect the mode of the market in a positive or negative way. Those events are short lived and have no permanent effect on the FUNDAMENTALS of most companies.
Last Friday the markets went down strongly because the SEC charge ‘GS’ with security fraud. By the end of the day the DOW lost 125 points and the S&P lost 19 points. IS ‘GS’ problems have anything to do with the Technology sectors or any other parts on the market ?
IS THIS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BUY STOCKS AT LOWER PRICE ?
Wall Street Reaction to Goldman Sachs Charges Looks Overblown: Barron's
-- Goldman Sachs' (GS:$160.70,00$0.00,000.00%) reputation took a huge hit Friday when the Securities and Exchange Commission charged the firm with securities fraud in the underwriting of a $1 billion collateralized-debt obligation backed by sub prime mortgages. But don't count Goldman out, says a feature in this week's Barron's.
GS fell 12.8% Friday but shares are edging just higher in pre-market trading this morning.
BY THE END OF THE DAY THE DOW WAS UP SO WAS GOLDMAN SACHS.
